Finding classes that transfer

Finding the right courses for your bachelor’s degree involves careful planning. Most universities require three main components:
  1. General Education Courses: These include basic subjects like writing, math, arts & letters, social science, lab science, and a second language. Other names for these might be Core Education or Baccalaureate Core courses.
  2. Major or Program Courses: These are the courses specific to your chosen field of study. Some schools may also require or offer a minor, though not all do.
  3. Degree Requirements: These include things like the total number of credits needed to graduate, a minimum GPA, and other graduation standards. Requirements may vary depending on whether you are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS). It’s a good idea to meet with a PCC advisor to plan your degree path.
