Wireless Services /technology/services/wireless-services/ Wed, 05 Sep 2018 16:33:15 +0000 /technology/?post_type=pcc-services&p=1517 Secure wireless network access is available at all PCC campuses and centers. All current students, faculty, and staff can access the PCCWiFi network, while visitors to the college can request permission to access the PCCGuest network. Additionally, Eduroam (link to Eduroam Service) is another wireless connection that can be leveraged by PCC students and other colleges participating in the Eduroam consortium.

PCCguest allows individuals with no affiliation to PCC the ability to access the internet but does not allow access to some PCC services. For full access to all PCC services, students and staff should use PCCWiFi.

Remote Access /technology/services/remote-access/ Tue, 28 Aug 2018 21:15:45 +0000 http://wordpress.pcc.localhost/technology/services/remote-access-vpn/ Many PCC online services are available from off-campus, just as they are from on-campus.Ìý For example, you can connect to MyPCC and D2L the same way whether you are on campus or not, using the same links and login.Ìý However, some online services used by employees require additional protection when accessed from offsite.

In these cases, IT offers several solutions that permit remote access while still protecting PCC’s data.Ìý For example, we support VPN (virtual private network) connections that allow your offsite computer to see the same network and applications that you get on-campus.Ìý We’re also rolling out newer technologies that offer security without the need of VPN, such as Banner Secure Access and Splashtop.

If you need to access PCC systems or services from offsite, and you’re not able to do so using the same links that you do from on-campus, please contact the Service Desk and we will work with you to help.
