Details about this class

Hello! I'm William Douglass,

Thanks for your interest in practicing Tai Chi. I have extensive experience. I am a Tai Chi and meditation teacher, with twenty eight years practicing Tai Chi and forty seven years experience as a meditator. During my twenty year tenure at PCC I have successfully taught thousands of students. I ran my own private practice for ten years in Sellwood as a councilor and clinical hypnotherapist focusing on family trauma. I am a Reiki master and energy healer versed in multiple modalities. I bring my decades of experience with a unique skillset well suited for the subjects I teach. In this class you will learn the Yang style Twenty Four form. The class includes lectures and topics about Chi Kung, Tai Chi, breathing, meditating and other related advanced energy principles. Tai Chi I & II are blended with beginner and advanced topics to educate both levels.

This is a hybrid course which meets via Google Meet twice a week for fifty minutes and includes a live demonstrations of the form with chi kung, online lectures and related activities. The class is cross-listed with Tai Chi I 182S, Tai Chi II 182G and Meditation I 184M so you will have the meditation class materials as an optional benefit. The live Google Meets are split between half for Tai Chi and half for meditation. Tai Chi is presented for the first part and meditation after. It is optional to attend the live Meets. The lecture demos are recorded so you can access them online anytime to fit your schedule. I post the recordings once they are available on Google Drive. There is no textbook for this course. All reading and other materials will be provided through D2L Brightspace. Final grades will be determined by your attendance and participation, a four question weekly quiz and a one page post reflection paper that is due at the end of the term. Email me with questions at william.douglass15@pcc.edu.

Namaste’
