Details about this class

Hello! I am excited to share my love of learning with you, as we engage in Medical Terminology! This is a 100% online course with no class meetings! Students follow the schedule and complete the assignments, quizzes and exams in D2L.

We will be using the Medical Language by Susan M. Turley, 6th edition, book. No prior editions.

  • You can acquire the eBook or the physical textbook; you do not need both.
  • MyLab will not be required.

If you get the digital text through the PCC Book Store, use the following instructions to access the ebook.

This is only relevant to you if you purchased an eTextbook through the PCC Bookstore and were given a VitalSource code. You will need to create logins for both VitalSource and Pearson Student if you don't already have them.

After purchasing your eTextbook from VitalSource via PCC Bookstore, either online or in-person, you should receive an email. Follow the directions on the VitalSource eText/eBook instructions.

  • Open your email, then click the link to the PCC Bookstore.
  • Click on My Bookstore Account, then Activate and Access.
  • Under the Other Digital Titles section, click on the drop down menu listing the options for Book Info and Access.
  • Then, you should see a link for Click to Access.
  • This will give you your access code to enter into Pearson.

Then, and most importantly, navigate to one of these links:

You should then arrive at a screen where you will manually input your Access Code.

Then, head to the . You should see your textbook there.

Once you have access to your eText, make sure you have bookmarked/saved the URL for easy access in the future.

I will post Zoom office hours weekly as they vary due to my schedule of traveling and teaching.

You will find that this class has a consistent, predictable schedule for coursework. Students establish a routine to meet deadlines quickly.
