Details about this class

As a high school teacher and a college instructor, I firmly believe that you will be able to understand the mathematics you will be studying this term. Some of the curriculum may be familiar to you, but it may also include some concepts you haven’t previously encountered. I hope that with practice, patience, and persistence you will successfully complete this class and be prepared for future math classes.

The class will be a combination of assigned work and Knowledge Checks using ALEKS online technology, textbook homework, quizzes and two exams.

I am always available to support you and help you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Technology

You will be using ALEKS (Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces) this term.

ALEKS is a powerful artificial-intelligence based assessment tool that zeros in on the strengths and weaknesses of a student’s mathematical knowledge, reports its findings to the student, and then provides the student with a learning environment for improving this knowledge.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
