Details about this class

This class introduces students to every element of sound for film and video from on-set recording and boom operating through sound design and re-recording mix. The first half of the term focuses on recording sound during production and the second half of the term focuses on post-production sound.

You can find a copy of a past syllabus for . The syllabus for the Fall term will change slightly but the old syllabus will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Prerequisite/Concurrent: MM 235, or instructor permission. Audit available.

Technology

Students will use either Avid Pro Tools or Adobe Audition software to edit audio in this class. Adobe Audition is available for free to multimedia students through Adobe's Creative Cloud and both programs are available on all of the computers in MAHB Room 215.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
