Details about this class
Welcome to Japanese 101: First Year Japanese - First Term! (CRN 41130)
In this course you will learn to speak, read, write and understand Japanese from the first day of class. We have face to face class meetings on Mondays & Wednesdays from 10:00 AM - 12:20 PM. You can access our course site and materials by going through D2L Brightspace - the learning platform that all courses use at PCC.
During our class meetings we will engage in a variety of pair, small group and whole class activities where you learn to read, write, speak and understand Japanese. Learning language works best when people get to know and trust one another - this can be challenging, but also very rewarding!
In addition to our class meetings, you will also have work that you will complete asynchronously on your own time, like homework and quizzes. I also will offer office hours where we can meet one-on-one so that I can help and answer your questions.
You can find out more about the course policies and what we’re going to do this term by checking out the ,. Also, you can take a look at !
Feel free to contact me via email if you have any questions about the course (morgan.lindberg@pcc.edu[opens in new window]) and I am excited to work with you this fall!
Technology
This is a face to face class and we will meet Mondays & Wednesdays on the Rock Creek campus. You will need to submit all of your homework electronically, so it will be important for you to have access to the internet and a computer or tablet. You may also be able to use a smartphone to access the materials for this course.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
