Details about this class

Hello,

My name is Dwight Gray and I am a retired controls and commissioning engineer. I have been in the engineering and controls industry for over 35 years at this point, starting in the field before I spent the last 20 years working as a design engineer licensed in both Washington and Oregon.

This class will give students a base understanding of DDC (Direct Digital Controls) field maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as some of the thought processes that go into understanding the design of the systems, why things should or (perhaps more importantly) shouldn't be done with DDC systems, their operations and maintenance, and life/safety systems interfacing.

I have been teaching at PCC for about two years now off and on as a part time instructor. In my spare time my hobbies include fiddling with HAM radios and blacksmithing.

I look forward to meeting you in class!

Technology

The classroom will have computers available for use in class, however access to your own laptop/desktop computer will be beneficial in some of the learning via simulators. This class may use some online video sessions using Zoom, so having a microphone and camera on your personal computer would be helpful if we do go that direction.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
