Details about this class
This is a hybrid course that meets once a week in-person at Rock Creek for a hands-on lab, and has additional coursework and activities to be completed throughout the week online at your own pace. The content is presented in a series of weekly modules designed to guide you as you learn about the environment. Weekly activities include Zoom class meetings, readings, online discussions using the D2L platform, in person labs, and quizzes. Students who have the most success with this course block off a significant chunk of time in their weekly schedule to devote to completing the course activities. You will need a reliable internet connection for this course.
Labs are Monday mornings at Rock Creek. Participation in labs is a required component of the course.
There will be field trips outside on Rock Creek campus as a part of lab.
Please feel welcome to contact me by email (megan.faust@pcc.edu) with any questions you have about the course!

Technology
There are weekly Zoom meetings as a part of this course. You will want access to a functioning microphone for our Zoom sessions.
Reliable internet is very important to your success in this course as lectures, quizzes, discussions and other weekly activities are all online through the course D2L Brightspace page.
All course documents will be provided via google docs, google sheets or pdfs. Discussion articles are web-based or videos.
Students will be asked to work with documents and upload assignments to the assignment submission folders in D2L.
No show policy
Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.
