Let me be clear that mourning the tragedy is my number one priority and I feel very sad for everyone involved.

However, I am also very concerned about something that happened at the Moment of Silence at Sylvania. Someone there, I think named Miguel, used the event to promote his own religious organization and tried to impose his religious beliefs on everyone else. I certainly don’t blame the organizers of the event, but I think this was an extremely inappropriate attempt to capitalize on the tragedy to promote his own beliefs.

Church and state need to remain separate.
