Photos and story by

Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ has closed the Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center,5600 NE 42nd St., due to a power outage.

The power went out at around 2:15 p.m. today and the decision to close the center happened at 3 p.m., according to Dana Haynes, public affairs manager for PCC.

Portland Power & Light officials told the college that power could be restored by 5:30 this evening, at the earliest. However, the center usually closes at 5 p.m. on Fridays, so the decision was made to close the facility.

The center houses programs for people searching for employment and looking for professional development, including the welfare-to-work program and the Dislocated Workers Project.
