PCC Theater Arts to Perform "The Crucible"

The Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Theater Arts department will open "The Crucible," Arthur Miller’s powerful 1953 Tony-award winning play about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in Salem. The drama will open on Thursday, March 5 with performances set for Friday and Saturday, March 6, March 7, and Thursday, March 12, Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14. All performances begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $6 general admission and $5 for students and seniors.
The "Crucible" is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. It shows how small lies – children’s lies – build until a whole town is aroused and 19 men and women go to the gallows for being possessed by the devil.
The leads are composed of Amy Cakebread, a Beaverton resident who will play Abigail Williams; Lake Oswego resident Sheryl Granholm as Elizabeth Proctor; and Adam Jackson, a Portland resident, will play John Proctor.
For reservations, call 977-4949. Tickets go on sale over the phone or in person on Monday, March 2, 1 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center ticket office inside the lobby. Ticket office hours are 1-5 p.m., Monday through Friday during the two weeks of performance.
