Priority for use of these spaces is given to library departmental purposes. When not otherwise being used for internal purposes, these spaces can be used for activities that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/mission-statement\/\">support and advance the Library\u2019s mission<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Eligibility<\/h4>\n<p>Library public spaces may be used for events and displays by the following groups:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organizations that are part of the College (for example, academic departments, centers, ASPCC clubs)<\/li>\n<li>Organizations that are affiliated with the College (for example, the PCC Foundation Board)<\/li>\n<li>Other organizations, especially non-profit organizations, whose mission and intended activity is instructional or educational and which may contribute to the academic or cultural life on campus. Organizations looking to rent space on campus for events not directly contributing to the academic or cultural life on campus can find more information at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/about\/facilities\/\">Facilities Rental Information<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Requests will be approved subject to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Availability<\/li>\n<li>Timing during the term<\/li>\n<li>Ease of scheduling\/accommodation to library hours<\/li>\n<li>Relevance of the proposed activity to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/mission-statement\/\"> mission of the Library<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Library spaces may not be used to promote the financial profit of any individual, organization, or commercial enterprise.<\/p>\n<p>This policy of approving requests on the basis of time, place, and manner of use reflects Article 6 of the Library Bill of Rights, which states, &#8220;Libraries that make exhibit spaces and meeting rooms available to the public they serve should make such facilities available on an equitable basis, regardless of the beliefs or affiliations of individuals or groups requesting their use.&#8221; \u00a0Events and displays must support the mission of the Library but, beyond that, content will not be considered in a decision regarding approval.<\/p>\n<h4>General Guidelines:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Requests from PCC-affiliated groups and organizations will be given priority.<\/li>\n<li>If the event will interfere with the normal activities of the college or library, it will not be scheduled.<\/li>\n<li>Where there is question regarding the appropriateness of the event, it will be referred to the Library Dean for approval.<\/li>\n<li>If a substantial attendance from PCC non-affiliated individuals would be expected at an event, the request will be reviewed by appropriate PCC administrators.<\/li>\n<li>The Library asks for at least a 48-hour notification of cancellation. If an organization\/department fails to give proper notification, permission to use the Library facilities in the future may be withheld.<\/li>\n<li>Arrangements for tables and chairs or requests for other resources (such as projectors, microphones, etc) should be made with the Library Supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>All signage and material are the requestor&#8217;s responsibility, and are subject to approval by appropriate Library staff.<\/li>\n<li>No signs, tape, glue, tacks, or nails are permitted on the walls.<\/li>\n<li>The Library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Reservation time frames<\/h4>\n<h5>Events<\/h5>\n<p>Requests are to be submitted no later than 2 weeks and no more than 6 months in advance of the event, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n<h5>Displays<\/h5>\n<p>Display space in the libraries is limited and often scheduled well in advance. Requests can be made at any time, and library staff will work with requesters to find a time when appropriate display space will be available. Understand that due to space and scheduling limitations, time-sensitive displays may not be possible.<\/p>\n<h4>Request and scheduling process<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Requests must be made using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/events-displays\/\">Library Programming and Outreach<\/a> form.<\/li>\n<li>When a reservation request is made, someone will contact the requester within one to three business days to discuss the details and book the request.<\/li>\n<li>Once it is processed, a confirmation email will be sent to the primary contact person.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In each PCC campus library, limited spaces are available for events and displays.
