LGBTQ Authors Virtual Display

June is Pride Month in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots of June 1969. In June 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act and created a legal way for people of the same sex or gender to gain the same rights as straight couples, which was finally passed in June 2015.

To celebrate this Pride Month, let’s read books by LGBTQ authors across genres—coming-of-age stories, realistic fiction, autobiographies and memoirs, magical realism, literary fiction, and more. This virtual display is a place just to start as it consists of five inspiring books and links to authors’ websites. One quick way to find more books by LGBTQ authors and LGBTQ supporters is visiting .
