丝瓜视频 Library is now providing access to the New York Times.

What is included:

  • Unlimited access to . Includes: articles, multimedia with interactive graphics, videos, photography, and virtual reality found in the (stories told through enhanced technology), newsletters and podcasts.
  • New York Times Audio App.
  • Podcasts including “The Daily” within apps like Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
  • No daily limit to the number of articles you can download.
  • dating back to 1851. Five PDF article downloads from Times Machine per user per day/100 per month)

  • Faculty: You have unlimited access to two learning tools: and

What’s not included:

  • New York Times Cooking
  • Articles and crossword scores do not carry over to a PCC subscription from a personal subscription.

 

Get Access

Already have a subscription to the New York Times with your PCC email? Skip to the instructions at the bottom of the page under “If you already have a subscription that uses your PCC email address”.

  • If you are on campus, follow the “on campus click here” link
  • If you are off campus, use the “Go” button
  • Login with your PCC credentials.
Create your account
  • Use your PCC email address to create your account
  • For security, we recommend that you pick a different password than your PCC password
  • Once registered, students have access until 12/31 of the graduation year they choose and faculty/staff have 4 years of full account access, after which they must re-authenticate by visiting
Confirm your new account
  • The first time you login, you will be asked for a few details
  • Indicate whether you are student or faculty
  • If student, indicate your expected year of graduation date and an alternate email address
  • Click sign up
  • You will receive a confirmation email to “Start your access” (access is called the “NYTimes.com Pass”)
  • Click the “丝瓜视频” button to begin to personalize your account (e.g. subscribe to specific newsletters)
Download the app to your phone or tablet (optional)
  • If desired, you can download the app to your phone or tablet so that you can save articles to read later and access podcasts
  • The NY Times has apps for Android and Mac.
  • Create your account first, then use your account to login to the app
  • Enter your phone number to link the app to your account (a text will be sent with links for download)
If you already have a subscription that uses your PCC email address

If you already have a personal NY Times subscription but want to access through the PCC library subscription:

  • to a non-PCC email address
  • Contact the NY Times to
  • *Important* – Anything you might have saved in your personal account (e.g. articles and crossword scores) will not transfer to the PCC subscription. You will need to capture these before you switch to the PCC subscription.
  • After you have cancelled your personal subscription, register for PCC digital access by going to
