This colorful painting was made from observation in the artist's backyard at a particularly propitious moment in spring when Viburnum, Azaleas, Bluebells and Mallow were all in bloom. Â The lushness of the colors may also reflect the time the artist spent painting in the Brazilian jungle in 1985. Â The title is taken from a poem by Antonio Machado: Â "There the good and kind spirits of life are waiting for you/ and one day they will carry you / to a garden of eternal spring."
